Divisions:
(based on 2026-2027 school year)
Division 1 = Grades 3 & 4
Division 2 = Grades 5 & 6
Division 3 = Grades 7 & 8
Division 4 = Grades 9 – 12
Who can play?
The league is open to girls and boys grades 3 – 12. All teams are co-ed (girls and boys playing on same team). Unfortunately we never have enough girls to register to have girls-only teams.
Playing up with older divisions:
We allow players to play up only one grade. Player must be registered with actual division first then email to ababall1990@aol.com requesting to play up.
Goal & Ball sizes:
Division 1 = 28.5 ball and 10 feet goal
Division 2 = 28.5 ball and 10 feet goal
Divisions 3 & 4 = 29.5 ball and 10 feet goal
Fee:
Cost is $155 for early registration (april 26th – may 24th) and $175 for regular registration (may 25th – may 31). We offer a $15 sibling discount.
Registration could close prior to may 31st once a division has maxed out to match the number of volunteer coaches, so register early.
Fee includes a reversible jersey, 2 practices, 5 regular-season games plus playoffs, and awards for 1st and 2nd place per division.
MANDATORY Evaluation:
saturday, May 30th: 9am – 9:45; (Last names A – M), 9:45am – 10:30am (Last names N – Z) at lake houston middle school, 15014 Timber Forest Drive, Houston, TX 77044
Player evaluation is MANDATORY for all registered players. If a registered player does NOT attend the mandatory evaluation, their spot will be taken by a player that either walks up to register or on the waiting list. The registration fee will be refunded but a $50 cancellation fee will be withheld.
Team rosters will be limited to a first come first serve basis and space is limited due to gym availability for practices and games. REGISTER EARLY
Practices & Games:
All games and practices are held at lake houston middle school.
Practices: Practices will begin the week of june 1st, Each team will get two practices prior to the first game. Once games start, there will not be weekly practices, just games. Each team will play twice per week; Tuesdays & Saturdays OR thursdays & Saturdays. For the weekday games,
the ABA times are from 6pm – 9pm. The younger teams go first then the older divisions come later.
Volunteer Coaching:
We are in need of volunteer coaches to have a successful league. If interested, please register yourself as a coach when registering your child. Any coaching questions, please email the Registrar at ababall1990@aol.com.
